7 Steps to Be Bold

Step 1: Bring out your Kings

Before you can be bold you have to be in the right place to be bold. In Joshua chapter 10, Joshua is trying to defeat the southern armies. There are these 5 kings that go and hide in a cave. Joshua brought these kings out of the cave and killed them. As teenagers and especially as girls we like to bottle things up and not deal with our problems. Bringing out your kings means facing your problems and figuring out how to conquer them in the Lords name.

Step 2: Pray and talk to God

Talking to God is the best way to know your specific way God wants you to be bold. Talking to God needs to be constant, heart felt, and genuine. Saying a quick prayer in the morning when you wake up or at night before you go to bed is great but you need those prayers where you pour your heart and soul to God. Those are the prayers that change you, that shape you into who God wants you to be.

Step 3: Live with a genuine smile on your face.

Smiling makes you happy. Smiling just makes you feel good, and when you feel good it makes other people feel good. When you’re happy happy and smiling nothing else really matters because you’re living with the joy of the Lord in your heart.

Step 4: Try something you’ve always wanted to do but fear has been holding you back

Being Bold also means going out and trying something new. It could be one tiny little new thing or a really big thing. It all just depends on what you feel is best for you and what God is calling you to do. Don’t be afraid to do something new because you could be missing out on a big thing God has planned for you. When God is calling you to be bold in His name you cannot be still.

Step 5: Worship like no one is watching

My youth pastors wife told me to worship like it was your last time ever to worship the Lord. That has been the best advice because I used to be scared to worship freely. I was intimidated by other people and I didn’t want to be looked at weird. But once I opened my heart up and praised God like nobody’s business it was one of the best experiences. it could just be in your room, or car, or at church but worship like it is your last chance to worship the Lord.

Step 6: Talk to someone about your testimony outside of your family/friend group

Talking can be hard. I get that. And talking to someone you barely know about vulnerable things is really hard.  But your story is your story, no one else, and it’s how you’re going to share God’s faithfulness to you personally. Your story could help someone else, it could help lots of people. Just be bold and share your story. You’ll be proud of yourself afterwards.

Step 7: Walk into the tax collectors home

Tax collectors are some of the worst people in the Bible. Yet Jesus loved on them and even made one of them His disciple. If you see someone straying off the path to God or someone who really needs Jesus, go to them. Show them the love you have for Jesus and show them they’re worthy of Gods love. Don’t force them or scare them away from the faith but love on them and show them the same compassion for them like Jesus did you. They aren’t going to come to you because they are scared of judgement and think they are not worthy of the love of God. So be bold and go to them and lead them in a loving way.
