New School Year

Howdy, it has been awhile, like a long while from me posting on here. Quarantine, senior year, starting college, and honestly life got into the way of a good thing like this. I am no longer going to view this blog as a way to inspire people or preach to girls, because that’s how I viewed it for a long time. While those aren’t bad things, I just put too much pressure on myself to always say the right thing and be the right thing. So now, I am going to use this more as a diary in a way. This will now be my way to jot down my thoughts, prayers, things the Lord is teaching me, Bible studies, and more. No more pressure to say everything in an eloquent and preachy style, but in a relaxed transparent way. With that being said here is my blog post topic hahahahahahahaha. With me starting college it has brought ~wisdom~, I’ve been at college three weeks crazy how there is wisdom. But here I am going to jot down some thoughts I’ve been having and Bible verses to go along with it.

To my senior peeps in Canadian or Texas panhandle area, or to anyone in high school, this ones for you:

  1. DONT TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED!!!!! I cannot stress that enough. Here I am with the rona talk but, one thing quarantine has taught me is that you shouldn’t. We used to complain about how much we wish school could be out and we could do all of it online, haha sike we had to. So apprentice the little things, like how the hallways look, Shrader’s tests, Coach Cav saying good morning to everyone, the honking of horns during lunch, the aimless wandering, literally everything. Appreciate it, with everything being up in the air right now, don’t take a single day for granted!!! 1 Peter 4:7-11
  2. Don’t stress the little things, like a failed test, being late to class, or someone being petty or mean. I promise there are bigger and better things out there for you! You will find where you need to be and when the hards times come things will get easier!! It’s just one of those things we need to get through!! You are not defined by a test grade, what someone says of you, or how well liked you are! Just be you and everything will work out!! I promise!! Psalm 119:143
  3. TAKE AN ONRAMPS COURSE OR A SHRADER CLASS!!!!! I am so thankful I did because nothing has prepared me more for college!!! Yes, it’s hard, makes you cry a lot and stress, but you will thank yourself for it later!!! There are so many people there to help you and want you to be successful!! It makes the transition to college that much easier!!
  4. Hang out with your family!!! Grandparents, parents, siblings, cousins, second cousins, aunts, uncles, and all of the above!! Spending time with them is time never regretted!! You will laugh, you will cry, and you will learn so much about life and the Lord!! No one has more wisdom. Another thing you should never take for granted, times are weird right now and hanging with your family will honestly make things so much easier.
  5. Hang out with your friends!! Do something fun, go to Dairy Queen, play truth or dare at the football field, car tag, hostage, literally anything!! Those memories are some that I cherish and it brought me some of the most fun times!!! Drive around for hours screaming throwback songs, or if your’e looking for some me time, drive around by yourself!! I used to do that a lot haha ~loner~ but I got to laugh, cry, pray, scream, sing, and get it all out in the open without concerned on a from someone!!!
  6. PRAY!!!! All the time. In your car, in the shower, walking between classes (you’re wearing a mask, haha no one will see you talking to yourself #perk), walking to your car, before school when you wake up, before you go to bed to help you go to sleep, before a test, during a test, after a test, literally there are so many examples!!! It makes the hard times easier, and the great times that much better! There is no better peace than laying all your burdens down to the Lord and knowing He will take care of you!! Jeremiah 29:12
  7. When picking a college make sure you absolutely love it!!! I LOVE OSU!!! I love the campus, the professors, the friends I’ve met!! I promise you will end up where you need to be, you just need to trust Him!! When applying for scholarships DON’T, I repeat, DON’T stress!!! The Lord provide you just what you need!! If you don’t get the big one you wanted, be sad, be disappointed, but don’t be discouraged!! Trust in Him and how he will provide just what you need!!!

To my new college girls or currently in college this is some stuff I have learned from being here for three weeks haha

  1. Go to class, makes things a lot easier and makes you feel good for getting out of the dorm and seeing the sun! Made the mistake of staying in and zooming all of my classes (haha sorry mom) but GO TO CLASS!!!! It’s a small thing but a big thing!
  2. Walk everywhere if you can, relieve the stress of parking by walking! I don’t even want to try and fight finding a parking space!!! Also get your exercise in for the day!!1
  3. Go do fun things!! Go to sonic, get ice cream, to insomnia, that’s the best way to create relationships and make memories!!
  4. Don’t be afraid to meet new people!! This is how you find your group your new friends!!! I am sometimes pretty antisocial, so I have to make myself meet people!! And that is totally okay!! Job 42:10
  5. Make one friend in every class you have, get their number so you can text about class and ask about assignments!! Make you feel not as much of a small fish in a big pond!!! Also holds you accountable for doing work hehe!!!
  6. Pray, pray, pray, makes the transition easier into college life, if you miss home, pray and call your mom. Miss your friends, pray and ask someone to hang out to make new ones! The Lord provides, and he will bring you who you need in your life at the right time!! You just have to ask Him too!! 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Andddddd that’s all I got, I know I have absolutely no qualifications on any of this but these are things I have learned since my last blog post, and these are the things I have had in my brain the past couple of days!!!! Just know the Lord is good, and He will never lead you astray, just focus on Him and what He has for you and the rest will fall into place!! I promise!! If you have any questions or need help, or prayer, or anything, a new favorite song, a good movie to watch, pls feel free to reach out!! I am 85% positive my social medias are linked so you can check them out there!!!!! HAVE A GOOD SHCOOL YEAR!!!
